Thank you

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported our benefit night for the Reseau Wassila. This network does important work for women and children who are victims of domestic violence in Algeria.

It was a really inspiring, cultural and delicious evening, and thanks to Fatma Alioua from Reseau Wassila who spoke about the support needed for women and children who are living in terrible and desperate situations.

We donated all our profits from the evening to this crucial work, and more money was raised by donations and raffle prizes – so thank you!

We love Nibbly Pig

“…an exotic adventure with an eclectic colourful menu and a real insight into the joys of Algerian cuisine.”

We’re really chuffed at the fantastic review of our last Kemia sharing evening at Harland Café by Ros aka Nibbly Pig – one of Sheffield’s top food bloggers.

Thanks Ros, we’re pleased you enjoyed it. Come along to our next sharing evening to see what she was talking about…

Our mission is couscous

Welcome to Absolutely CousCous. Our mission is to bring our love for couscous and delicious Algerian food to Sheffield and beyond!

Algerian food is fresh, spicy and unique – and couscous is at the core of any meal. The comforting teeny rolled balls of wheat are usually accompanied by a vegetable sauce called a merka. And then there are the delicious tagines and stews: lamb and prune, chicken, lemon and olives, squashes and dried fruit… the list goes on.

And we’ve not even mentioned the gorgeous sweet and fragrant pastries – often made with almonds, honey, oranges and delicate rosewater. Or the classic fresh mint tea perfect for aiding digestion.

But don’t take our word for it. Get in touch to find out how we can cater for your events, or join us for one of our regular sharing evenings at Harland Cafe.

Absolutely CousCous. Absolutely delicious.
